Like royal rouge on sleeping clouds
The powdered ink is smudged on high
 
Billowing soft
Then gashed down
In vivid blue
It swells, surging
As seascape drama
Almost drowned by the autumn sun
 
That flashes its lens
In one long take
Of sharp desire
Warming, crazed
Consuming
Autumns calm decay
As summer’s love lingers
Gorgeous, yet untempered
 
Like royal rouge on dying clouds.
